Green Initiatives
Climate change poses an unprecedented challenge to the sustainability of our environment. We take that challenge seriously.
At The Charleston Group, environmental initiatives are as much a part of social responsibility as diversity or pro bono work. Our “Go Green” initiatives are based on guidelines posted by the American Bar Association, and include:
- Encouraging lawyers and staff to reduce paper use through double-sided copying standards
- Using paper that contains at least 30 percent post-consumer recycled content
- Recycling discarded mixed-use office paper
- Scanning and emailing documents rather than providing printed versions when possible
- E-filing court documents
- Replacing worn-out office equipment with more energy-efficient ENERGY STAR labeled equipment
- Turning off lights, computers, copiers, printers and other equipment when not in use
- Replacing incandescent or halogen lamps with compact fluorescents (CFL)
- Enabling power-down management software on networked computers
